Week 7 Fantasy Football Picks

So I play on Fanduel and this is my lineup for week 7.  Understand, this lineup is constrained because of the salary cap of FanDuel.  I am also a Carolina Panthers fan, so I tend to find a way to get the Panthers represented sometimes.  However, I feel really good about this lineup and think it's a winner.

My picks for week 3:

QB: Cam Newton or Philip Rivers
The case for Cam Newton - Cam has been hot this year.  His passing stats are nowhere near Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, but he has thrown for a touchdown and rushed for a touchdown in 3 of 5 games.  The Philly defense is average and the Panthers are playing at home.

The case for Phillip Rivers - He's playing Oakland, whose defense isn't exactly lights out.  The Raiders defense has given up the 7th most yards in the league this year, and Phiilip Rivers and company are one of the elite passing attacks in the league.  With the addition of Antonio Gates in recent weeks, he has more weapons to distribute the ball to.  I see him having a great game.


RB: Devonta Freeman, Joseph Randle
Freeman  has owned the league so far this season.  His numbers are astronomical and I don't see Tennessee changing that anytime soon.  The Falcons have a very favorable matchup and i expect Freeman to have another big game.

Randle  is the main man in Dallas right now.  He should see plenty of opportunities, against the Giants.  I expect this to be a high scoring affair with Randle playing a major role.

WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Amari Cooper, Vincent Jackson, Rishard Matthews, 
Fitzgerald is having a comeback season for the ages.  He looks like the Larry Fitzgerald from 5 years ago.  He's really in sync with Carson Palmer and as long as Palmer is healthy, Larry is a solid play week in and week out.

Cooper hasn't exploded as much as we thought, but a match up against San Diego is in his favor.  he should see plenty of Targets from Derek Carr and I expect he should get around 80 yards and a score.

Vincent Jackson is a bit of a reach here.  However, against a weak Washington secondary, I look forward to him putting up some decent numbers.  He should grab about 6 receptions for 75 yards and a score.

Rishard Matthews is a bit underrated and under-appreciated.  He has put some decent numbers opposite Jarvis Landry and is capable of having a big game any week.

Pierre Garcon is a solid play.  he hasn't put up any monster numbers, but he is facing Tampa Bay this week.  And with all the questions about Kirk Cousins' effectiveness, he could be primed for a big game.  Plus, he's playing Tampa Bay!

TE: Greg Olsen
Olsen has been phenomenal 2 of the last 3 weeks.  Look for Cam to target Olsen a bunch this weekend and the matchup is pretty favorable.

Antonio Gates has given some more punch to an already good passing attack in San Diego.  He hasn't skipped a beat since coming back from the 4 game suspension and he has a great matchup against Oakland this week.  Just on targets alone, he's worth the play.  He's still a top five tight-end in the league.

K: Sebastian Janikowski
I think there are going to plenty of scoring opportunities in this Raiders-Chargers game, and Janikowski could benefit heavily.  He still has great range, so a 50 yard field goal or two may be in the cards this week.

D: Carolina Panthers or Arizona Cardinals
The Panthers D is going to have its work cut out for it, but they are riding high right now.  A home game in primetime always helps too.  The Defense has been good all year, and with the 4 sacks last week, it seems as if they are getting more pressure on the quarterback, which they will need against the Eagles.

The Arizona Cardinals are playing a weak Baltimore team.  The Cardinal defense is looking to get back on a roll after they allowed Landry Jones to carve them up.  Baltimore is struggling to win games and I don't think that will change this week.

Fantasy Picks Week 3

My picks for week 3:

QB: Andy Dalton or Carson Palmer or Tom Brady
The case for Andy Dalton - He's playing Baltimore without Terrell Suggs.  That means Dumervil will see double teams and more time for Dalton to find AJ Green and others downfield. Could be a big game.
The case for Carson Palmer - He's playing San Fran who isn't frightening anyone these days.  The defense just gave up big plays to Big Ben and the Steelers.  It's a good matchup for Carson and the Cards.
The case for Tom Brady - He's playing Jacksonville! Nuff said!

RB: Isaiah Crowell, Giovani Bernard
Crowell is the man in Cleveland right now.  He is also up against and up and coming Raiders defense that has to prove they can stop the run.
Bernard has been seeing plenty of touches the first two weeks, even as a back up to Jeremy Hill.  I look for that trend to continue, especially in the wake of his 100+ yd day in week 2.

WR: Emmanuel Sanders, Amari Cooper, Julian Edelman
Sanders is not a number 2 receiver, he is a 1A receiver.  Peyton looks for him just as much as Demaryius, and even more so on third downs.  I look for him to have another stellar game against Detroit this week.
Cooper had a breakout game against the Ravens and he and Derek Carr seem to have a great rapport. With Crabtree also having a great game, he may not have to see Joe Hayden too much in week 3.
Edelman is a target grabbing machine for NE.  He's Brady's most reliable/favorite target.  Especially in PPR leagues, Edelman is a stud.

TE: Greg Olsen
Olsen has a good matchup against a weak Saints D.  He's also Cam Newton's most reliable target.

K: Brandon McManus
Denver can put up some points, especially if they let Peyton control the offense the way he did in the second half of the Thursday night game against Kansas City.  McManus should have plenty of opportunities to get points against Detroit.

D: Carolina Panthers or Arizona Cardinals
The Panthers D is not only a top ten D in the league, but also in fantasy.  They have a favorable matchup against a banged up Drew Brees and the Saints.
The Arizona Cardinals are playing a week SF team.  They are looking to take control of their division.  Look for some turnovers by an opportunistic defense.

Fantasy Football Frenzy

Season Debut

Today was my first day back into the Fantasy Football Frenzy.  I've been playing Fantasy Football for about 7 years now and it never gets old.  I play in season long leagues on Yahoo and Fleaflicker and I also play one day games on FanDuel.  

Big Time

Last year I got in on FanDuel late in the season, but still won a few games and got a few dollars.  This year, I plan on playing the whole season.  I took my first swing at College Football on FanDuel and it was pretty cool.  I didn't win, but I was close.  College ball takes much more skill, because anything can happen.  So you have to pay close attention to overall matchups and really get into what type of season teams are having.  The big time guys I picked did me well, but I missed on a couple of guys from the small schools.  But hey, you live and learn.

Out Perform the Competition

One of the cool things about FanDuel is that it really gets you into the college players and who is performing well.  This helps when those guys make into the NFL and you know who can play and who cannot.  So, in the long run, FanDuel could help me outperform my competition in my other leagues.

A beautiful woman whose eyes are enduring
Lips are soft to the touch, alluring
Smile so bright, voice is soulful
A melodic composition, graceful and noble

Her body in tune with nature’s harmony
So strong, so delicate, moving so calmly
Like the wind of a summer’s breeze
With a grounded sense of ease

Fleet of foot with feet so elegant
Speech so right, so fluid, so eloquent
Stance is regal, even majestic
An aura no other living creature can contest it

Yet and still, she’s ever so modest
